COLOR OUTSIDE
Problem-solving through artistic expression.

Welcome to Color Outside
Color Outside is a 1:1 creative studio where children (and adults who still love to play) explore personal challenges and problem-solving through hands-on art experiences.
I believe art is one of the most powerful tools for growth. When we create, we learn
to take risks, adapt when things don’t go as planned, and find expansion in the unexpected. These lessons reach far beyond the brushstroke — they nurture resilience, open-mindedness, and perspective in everyday life.
Each session combines art-making with real-world problem-solving, guiding participants to approach obstacles with curiosity, patience, and imagination. Through creative exploration, we discover how to see challenges in new ways, think more flexibly, and develop a stronger sense of confidence and self-understanding.
The Process

For Kids
My sessions promote problem-solving skills, resilience, and confidence. Kids explore emotions through mixed media and practice creative solutions for real-world challenges.
The Process:
1. Identify: We start by identifying a difficult feeling or problem through freestyle drawing.
2. Express: We bring that situation to life in a creative
piece of art, allowing us to see it clearly outside of our heads.
3. Explore: Children experiment with materials, colors, and techniques to see what changes the feeling or situation.
4. Reflect: We close by discussing their challenges, their solutions, and their discoveries.
Your child leaves with their creation—a tangible symbol of their inner strength and self-expression.
For Adults
My sessions invite adults to reconnect with their creativity while gaining new perspectives and approaches to personal or professional struggles.
The Process:
1. Define: We identify your core challenge (difficult decision, emotional block) using a swift, abstract drawing exercise.
2. Visualize: You bring the issue out of your head and into the studio, turning abstract stress into concrete art.
3. Solve: You experiment with materials, color, and texture, physically testing solutions and discovering what helps the situation shift.
You leave with your creation—a reminder of your ability to solve even your most stubborn challenges.
Meet Kristyn
Hi, I’m Kristyn — a professional artist, licensed early childhood educator (UCLA), and creative facilitator who is passionate about helping people explore their inner life through art and their outer world through a new lens.
I’ve spent years exploring how art can spark insight, confidence, and new ways of thinking — especially for kids who learn and express themselves best through creativity.
At Color Outside, my goal is simple: help people of all ages think beyond the lines, experiment freely, and find their own voice.
I’m not a licensed therapist — I’m a professional artist and ECE educator whose work focuses on expression and personal growth through art.
